As the firm celebrates its 55th year, Mercedes-AMG has added Edition 55 packages to more of its vehicles. The A 35 and CLA 35, both in two body designs, are the most recent models to receive the package. The Edition 55 package is available on the hatchback and sedan versions of the A 35, as well as the regular four-door coupe and Shooting Brake versions of the CLA. The Edition 55 package, like the G-class, is largely aesthetic, with the A 35 and CLA 35 remaining mechanically unmodified.
Starting with the exterior, the A 35 and CLA 35 both feature the optional AMG Night Package and Night Package II as standard. The grille, wheels, mirror covers, exhaust finishers, and badging all get a darker finish as part of the kits. The AMG Aerodynamics kit includes features such as a fixed rear spoiler, front splitter, and front bumper canards, among others.
The 19-inch AMG alloy wheels complete the aesthetic. The A 35 and CLA 35, like the G 63 Edition 55, come in two external colors: cosmic black metallic and digital white metallic.
The interior is decorated in a dual-tone red and black color scheme, with Edition 55 badges on the steering wheel, seats, and floor mats. A 35 and CLA 35 consumers will be able to purchase the bundle as an add-on.
The same 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 302 bhp and 400 Nm is mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox in both variants, with no changes under the skin.
For the time being, the Edition 55 package is not available with the more powerful AMG 45 vehicles.
