Covid-19 cases in India

Following the latest news of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has 14,146 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours but it was 11.5 percent less than what the country had noticed a day before. The total Covid cases in India has climbed to 3,40,67,719. Until now 97.65 crore Covid vaccine doses have been regulated in the country and in the last 24 hours the country administered 41,20,772 doses under the nationwide vaccination drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The states that have maximum new Covid-19 cases, were Kerala with 29,836cases, Maharashtra with 4,666 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 1,557cases in Tamil Nadu with 1,538 cases, and Karnataka with 1262 cases. These five states account for 91 percent of all the new cases reported in India.

After failing to effectively prepare for the second wave of coronavirus infections, health care workers are now forewarning people about the possibility of a third wave. Local administrations and some hospitals have already started to improve their infrastructure in keenness of a further rise in cases after a few months.

The third wave of Covid-19 is not likely to be as severe as the first and the second wave, as stated by public health experts. One of the researchers said that the third wave could be avoided with strong action but several others have issued comparable warnings in recent weeks.
