BMW M4 Competition is now available in India, with a starting price of 1.43 crore

The all-new BMW M4 Competition xDrive, the company’s latest M model in India, has been introduced for 1.43 crore, making it the company’s 10th high-performance M product in the nation. The new BMW M4 Competition xDrive is built on the BMW 4 Series design language, with M-specific tweaks to identify the two, although it is proportionate to its conventional sibling.

The new BMW M4 Competition xDrive is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine that produces 501 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque and is connected to an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission that drives all four wheels via the xDrive system. This allows the nearly 1.8-tonne monster to accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in only 3.5 seconds, and then to another 100kmph in 12.5 seconds before topping out at 290kmph.

An electronically controlled multi-plate clutch transfers torque between the front and back axles in the completely variable, rear-biased system, while torque distribution at the rear axle is handled by an M Active Differential. Both the M xDrive and the Active M differential are directly connected to the Dynamic Stability Control System for faster responses, resulting in improved agility and control of both understeer and oversteer.

The BMW M4 Competition xDrive comes standard with Adaptive LED Headlights with BMW Laserlight. The roof is built of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and has aerodynamic fins, a rear spoiler, and two exhaust tailpipes. The front 19-inch M light-alloy wheels and the rear 20-inch M light-alloy rims are shod with 275/35 ZR19 and 285/30 ZR20 tyres, respectively. In terms of usability, the M4 Competition has large 440-liter cargo space.
